Miley Cyrus joins RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11

The RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 premiere is shaping up to be a wild hoedown throwdown for the 15 competing queens.

Pop star Miley Cyrus announced Tuesday she will join the Drag Race family as a special guest for the upcoming Feb. 28 bow, which marks the show’s third consecutive season opener fronted by a major music diva after Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera helped kick off seasons 9 and 10, respectively.

A video teaser for the episode shows Cyrus strutting down the runway before asking: “Are you freaking out? Because I’m freaking out!”

Cyrus has a long relationship with the Drag Race community, having attended the 2015 season 7 finale taping before before enlisting several queens who’ve competed on the show — including Alyssa Edwards, Laganja Estranja, Gia Gunn, Alexis Mateo, Carmen Carrera, Courtney Act, Delta Work, Miss Fame, and Shangela — to join her onstage for her performance of “Dooo It!” at the MTV VMAs later that year.

Prior to announcing Cyrus’ guest appearance, the network revealed season 11 would see the Emmy-winning reality competition series move from its Friday night All-Stars 4 time slot back to Thursday nights for the first time since season 10.

Season 11’s cast features 15 queens — the largest number in series her-story — competing for the title of America’s Drag Superstar, including returning season 10 contestant (and breakout internet star) Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo.

Catch Cyrus on the RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 premiere Thursday, Feb. 28 at 9:00 p.m on VH1.
