Jonathan Van Ness to serve ice skating realness in Netflix’s Spinning Out series

Say it with us… Yaasss, kween!

Jonathan Van Ness, the ray-of-sunshine-and-rainbows grooming guru on Netflix’s Queer Eye, is taking his ice skating skills over to the streaming platform’s new series, Spinning Out.

The new gig may be a guest-starring role, but it’s appropriately “larger-than-life,” according to the character description from Netflix.

On the upcoming show that will feature former Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Maze Runner‘s Kaya Scodelario, and Arrow‘s Evan Roderick, Van Ness will play Bruce, “a former skater turned big-time choreographer from Michigan.” With Scodelario as Kat, a former single skater hoping to save her career by entering the paired skater field with “bad boy” Justin (Roderick) as her partner, Bruce “will create Kat and Justin’s main competitors’ program and have some fun confusing his clients along the way.”

Van Ness already picked up figure skating as a hobby, shown in his many delightful Instagram videos. He took to social media, again, from the set of Spinning Out to help pep up the news.

As he says, he’ll be “giving you spins fero-sh.”

Samantha Stratton of Mr. Mercedes created Spinning Out and serves as co-showrunner with 90210‘s Lara Olsen.

Willow Shields, Sarah Wright Olsen, Will Kemp, Kaitlyn Leeb, Amanda Zhou, and Mitchell Edwards also star in the 10-episode first season.
