Your pop culture horoscope for February: Which rom-com will you fall in love with this month?

Every day until Valentine’s Day, Entertainment Weekly is celebrating our special romantic comedy-themed Untold Stories issueCheck out all of our behind-the-scenes tidbits, reunions, and oral histories — and follow #LoveEWstyle on Twitter and Instagram

It may seem strange that touchy-feely Valentine’s time falls in thinky-weirdo Aquarius season, but when you watch romantic comedies, it makes perfect sense. The best ones are never just mushy love stories (Cancer season can keep its Nicholas Sparks adaptations); they can be subversive, they can be perceptive, they can be bizarre, and they can be so much fun — just like the zodiac’s water bearers.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we’ve consulted the cosmos to see which rom-com you’ll fall in love with this month.

ARIES (March 21 to April 19)

You hardly need it to be February to fall in love, Aries; you hardly need to be conscious to fall in love. This month, you’ll get swept off your feet once again by the true love of your life — glorious newness — when you catch the latest entry in our genre du jour, Isn’t It Romantic? And better still, it’s about a cynical girl who gets hit in the head and wakes up in the joyous, candy-colored fantasy land of romantic comedies. Now doesn’t that sound like a wonderful adventure?

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20)

If you were to round up your most decadent Taurus friends and move into a castle together and make a reality show of you guys taking bubble baths and eating gelato off of diamond-encrusted spoons, there’s no way that series wouldn’t first of all be a hit, and second of all be called Crazy Rich Taureans. The point being: Between the outrageous degree of luxury on display and the film’s concern with tradition and loyalty, last year’s smash Crazy Rich Asians has your name all over it, beautiful bull.

GEMINI (May 20 to June 20)

What’s love (or life) without a little mischief? While some people might watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and see nothing more than a pair of two-faced double-crossers manipulating and betraying each other for shallow and/or inauthentic reasons, you tune in to the 2003 classic and witness a remarkably attractive example of a Gemini mating ritual. Potato, potahto.

CANCER (June 21 to July 22)

As the sign whose earthly existence is ruled by the moon, you might say you spend your whole life feeling Moonstruck, sweet Cancer. So it should come as no surprise that you’ll spend the swooniest month of the year bathing in the golden light of the 1987 rom-com, with an Oscar-winning star turn by Cher. Don’t even pretend it will be the first time you’ve fallen hard for a gorgeous, glamorous Taurus.

LEO (July 23 to Aug. 22)

There’s a big, sexy love story. There’s two people expanding their views of the world. There’s the whole gamut of Leo style, from a hooker two-piece (sorry) to a showstopping evening gown. There’s Julia Roberts’ warm, happy laugh. But honestly, there’s no need to list a million reasons for this pairing. It could not possibly be more of a no-brainer. You are a Leo. This is a movie entitled Pretty Woman. Lo and behold, soulmates!

VIRGO (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)

It will be the sweetest and Frenchest February for you, lovely Virgo, because you’ll spend this month with a truly like-minded soul. Amélie also takes genuine pleasure in the tiny perfections she encounters every day, and she, too, devotes her life to improving the lives, however she can, of the people around her — whether or not they’re even aware she’s doing it. As magical as it is meticulous, the 2001 film will transport you as much as it does a certain garden gnome.

LIBRA (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

If the entire world of romantic comedies had an astrological sign, we can only assume it would be yours. So it only seems right that 1989’s When Harry Met Sally… should be the thing that speaks to you most this month, but not only because of its high place of honor within the genre and its breathtaking shots of Central Park during cinegenic Libra season. As one of best BFFS and most devoted romantics in the zodiac, this is a pairing that will pierce your airy heart, little scales. Anyway, it’s about old friends.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

First of all, rom-com queen Julia Roberts herself shares your sign, which is something nobody can ever take away from you. Second of all, if there is any nuptial behavior that is more essentially Scorpio than taking someone for granted for years, deciding upon hearing news of their engagement that they always have been and always shall be yours and no one else’s, and then endeavoring to break up their wedding with a series of tricks, lies, and manipulations, then please let us know. In the meantime, My Best Friend’s Wedding it is.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)

We know you’d rather shoot Cupid’s arrows, wild archer, than suffer being hit by one, but that doesn’t mean you have to be left out of the fun. Yes, there’s a rom-com for commitment-phobes, too! Catch up with 1999’s Runaway Bride for the return of an iconic duo and a truly Sagittarian spirit. We just can’t promise you won’t get captured by it.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)

John Hughes and Molly Ringwald may both be Aquarians (with the same birthday, no less!), but the cinematic world they created together was as Capricornian as can be. Never moreso than in 1986’s Pretty in Pink, a high-school rom-com filled with genuine ache, concerned with real problems (like your favorite, the practical and societal pressures stemming from one’s economic status!), and marked by a sharp sense of humor spiked with a jaded sort of wisdom. Call it adolescence, sea-goat style.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)

Here’s a birthday surprise, darling water bearer: We’ve found an anti-formulaic rom-com that’s just as smart and original as you are! And while you’re at it, here’s a fun game — try determining which character in 2009’s (500) Days of Summer is the most Aquarian: Is it Tom, whose imagined version of his romance with Summer is more real to him than their actual relationship? Or is it Summer, who is consistently honest, and fixated on her own independence, and sometimes maddeningly aloof? TBD! Watch and choose!

PISCES (Feb. 19 to March 20)

This a good month to break out your spare packet of wishing dust, Pisces (you know you have one). There’s no rom-com for you but 2004’s 13 Going on 30, in which a 13-year-old girl makes a birthday wish for a grown-up, glamorous life, and then once she’s miraculously acquired it she navigates it exactly how you might expect an unworldly preteen (or Pisces) might. Come for the magic, stay for the sweetest love story on this whole list.
