Hugh Jackman opens the Brit Awards with suitably extravagant Greatest Showman performance

This is everything you ever want, everything you ever need!

Hugh Jackman brought the greatest show across the pond to the Brit Awards on Wednesday night. The actor/singer/showman opened the awards ceremony, which celebrates the best in British music and beyond, with an explosive and extravagant performance of “The Greatest Show” from his film The Greatest Showman, complete with dancers dressed in circus ringmaster ensembles, pyrotechnics, and a whole lot of synchronized choreography.

After the show, Jackman tweeted a short clip of his performance with the caption “This is where you wanna be.”

The multi-faceted and talented star is set to take his one man show on tour this spring with a set list that features songs from The Greatest Showman as well as Les Misérables and the Broadway production The Boy From Oz, for which he won a Tony Award. The tour, titled The Man. The Music, The Show, will span cities within the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He will be joined on the road by a 26-piece orchestra and 30 singers and dancers.

“This is a big dream come true for me… I’m singing, I’m dancing, I’m telling stories,” he said at the time of the show’s announcement. “I love going to a concert when I feel something happened that night that could only happen that night… I’m just gonna have a party.”

The tour kicks off in Glasgow, Scotland on May 7 and ends July 20 in Los Angeles. See the full list of dates here and watch the clip of his Brits’ performance above for a taste of what’s to come.
