“You cannot go back to your normal life after tonight.” That line from Ben Affleck also applies to you, lovely viewer of the new Triple Frontier trailer.
As Affleck explained his departure from the role of Batman to Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night, he also looked ahead to his next venture, playing one of five former U.S. special operatives who come out of retirement to pull off a heist. His other boys, as shown in the fresh footage, are played by Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal, and Garret Hedlund.
These guys have been serving their country for most of their lives in continuous near-death experiences. Now it’s time to serve their own interests. Their mark? The head of one of the biggest drug cartels with millions in cash stashed away.
“We’ve increasingly placed more and more of the burden to do the fighting and defending of our country on this very narrow band of people, the Special Forces who do all the combat… To meet these guys and get the chance to train with them was a phenomenal honor,” Affleck told Kimmel.
Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Belko Experiment) also features in the film, directed by Isaac’s A Most Violent Year helmer, J.C. Chandor.
Triple Frontier is out in select theaters on March 6 before debuting globally on Netflix March 13.
