The Warped Tour lives! The annual concert tour — which provided a platform for the biggest emo/punk bands of the late ’90s/early 2000s — has announced multiple 25th anniversary events for summer 2019, one year after saying goodbye.
“It was truly an honor to do a final cross-country run of Warped in 2018; to see fans from all eras of the tour come out for a day to celebrate an event that meant so much to them,” Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman said in a statement. “I walked away from the final show with a true sense that the Vans Warped Tour became the community I had always hoped for.”
There will not be a 25th anniversary tour, but there are five planned events in June and July. On June 8, the Forever Warped exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland will kick off with a concert featuring bands from across the tour’s history. Forever Warped will then be accessible at the Hall of Fame with instruments played by members of Fall Out Boy and Reel Big Fish alongside stage clothing worn by the likes of Joan Jett and Ice-T.
Then there will be two concert dates at Atlantic City, New Jersey, and things will finish off with a two-day extravaganza at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The latter will feature more than 50 bands, extreme sports ranging from skateboarding to motocross, and an exhibit of Warped Tour art that has come out of the tour’s history.
Pre-sale tickets are available Feb. 25, and all tickets will go on sale on March 1.
