The CW announced the renewal of 10 current shows for the 2019-2020 season on Thursday.
Here’s which shows are definitely coming back (and then which is still in limbo).
Supernatural (for a whopping 15th season!).
Arrow (season 8).
Black Lightning (season 3).
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (season 5).
The Flash (season 6).
Riverdale (season 4).
Supergirl (season 5).
Plus two freshman shows:
Charmed (season 2).
Legacies (season 2).
The CW previously announced that this is the final season for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin, and iZombie.
Basically, The CW is bringing back everything currently on the network that hasn’t been previously announced as concluding. Or almost. The CW jury is still out on the freshman drama All American, which will finish airing its 16-episode debut season and then a decision will be made.
The network also has some midseason shows coming up whose fates haven’t been decided yet — such as the return of The 100 and new series In the Dark.
“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers,” said CW chief Mark Pedowitz in a statement. “In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning. These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”
